4th July Parade
Ok so i get roped in to using my truck in the local 4th of July parade. Now i don't mind doing the whole parade thing,as it was good exposure for the rescue. But let me just say it was very hot and for a parade that runs less than one mile it should not take 4 hrs.The town i live in lower Southampton managed to turn a great day into a political show for the up and coming candidates for this next election. With that being said i was totally pissed of when i found out that just to be in the parade it was going to cost the rescue $300.00 dollars for us to drive 1 mile so that the politicians can run the show and drag their feet to do little more than shake hands and try to win votes.Well after seeing how they handle things with a simple parade it just confirms to me they have no idea to handle things. and not once did any one of the political candidates come over and ask how they might help the rescue or even ask what we do or how they might help us.i think i just goes to show how misplaced government really is.We are a non profit non bred specific rescue. And the piss poor excuse for a township would charge us to have a float in the lamest parade iv ever seen. But without us having an alliterative motive i guess the honest people of the rescue with a goal to help the abused and abandoned dogs and help our township in anyway we can we seem to get little respect and no help from lower Southampton township.im sorry this just burns me up.thats all i have to say .
