Is she really cat aggressive ???

Just a little poke from a soon to be friend!!

When we were first introduced to Lydia.The good people at the PSPCA had having already being aware that we had 7 dogs and 3 cats told us that she was dog and cat aggressive.Well this did not stop us from making the choice to save her.I found it a chance to help a dog that was said to be very sweet with a history of abuse.Now side note while writing this a loud verbal scuffle broke out between my alpha male and my baby girl Sarah.well this was over a pig ear which neither one of them could get at .My son was right there to grab duke while i grabbed Sarah and Lydia was right behind me.I am happy to say although so followed me down the hallway she never really reacted to the dog scuffle.I call it a scuffle because neither one was attacking but both were throwing paws and snarling.Lydia barely even put up any resistance to my leg blocking her from getting involved .I write about this because if she was dog aggressive this would have set her off.Now back to the cat story.        There has been several times Lydia has had the chance to grab one of my cats yet each time she gets excited but only wants to lick them.Tonight she is walking around getting some time out of the room she is kept in .I allow her this time with me and only a couple of the dogs just to give her a chance to get some socialization.This is very important for her to heal her emotionally.Part of this healing and rehabilitation process is to get her tempered to other dogs and cats if possible.When at the PSPCA i kinda knew from her body language and actions hers was not cat aggression but cat excitement.When most cat see this kinda of excitement coming from a dog they first want to run or his or swipe at the dog.Not that I can blame them.Lydia has the benefit of Rocky knowing that it does him no good to hiss or strike at the dog.It is this that will help Lydia come to terms with cats.A long road lies ahead of Lydia but she shows great promise.Her are some pictures of her with Rocky and Lydia and Sarah laying with My wife.Hope you enjoy the the happiness that is evident by the smile on Lydia's sweet face.
