Ok so one day I come home to find this 4 week old puppy sitting in a box in my kitchen.Well lets just say my first words were not very nice. I do believe i was much like the rest of the popular opinion that pit bulls were bad dogs,And in my heart I knew other wise as I had already made friends with my dogs father. His name was Champ.Now champ was not real big but very intimidating and ferocious at his fence.Now seeing this every day for 3 years I really did not want to raise a pit bull. Well I lost and now 14 years later me and Kramer go everywhere together.
Man was I wrong about this dog.He turned out to be best dog i could ever want.though the years i have taken him to work with me everyday well almost everyday. I learned that this dog had special written all over him never a growl in anger friendly to dogs cats and even the baby squirrel I raised.Yet on many occasions he has let me know that there were people he did not like,and man was he write.And write so many times that now if my dog gives that certain bark and growl i know to watch my back.Now the next part may upset some but it is who he is. I realized that a very early age this dog was stuck to me from room to room in the house or just walking around out side he always had to have me in site.So I began to train him and soon learned he was not stupid but just the opposite very smart.As time went on a leash was never really used.This was in part to him and the trust I had in him.
Now i know we all feel our dogs are special.But I have seen on more than one occasion where a dog has run up to Kramer while the owner is yelling please grab your dog my dog will attack well anyone who knows dogs will tell you if another dog is charging your dog that if you hold your dog back with a leash it make for a bad situation for your dog.and since Kramer is never on a leash i just let Kramer diffuse this dog in his own way.Knock on wood at 14 years old he has never had to fight another dog. This is good as hes really a leg lover and not a fighter.There must be something he says or does with his growl and posture that it never turns nasty.
Now why is he called Gandhi well its simple he wont fight he has been attacked by my pit bull chi wawa and just get bit turn the other cheek he does every time.My wife calls him the prince because Kramer gets to go every where and i mean everywhere.
Kramer has been the dog i come to rely on when working with new fosters and or people that have dogs with dog aggression issues.Since he tends to be very calm and ignores most everything around him dogs cats people birds whatever it may be.I find he tends to help other dogs and people be calm .
there are many thing that make him special but i have come to love his smile with those soft warm eyes and his ability know just when you need a kiss.Now oddly enough this is a dog that really does not want to be petted by most adults and only certain kids does he not walk away from.This is my dog and he has to be up my ass all the time but nope not even I can hold him with out him wanting to walk a way.So i do like a good alpha and i pin him and give him love than i let him get away.It is this that makes most people ask me did you dog just roll his eyes at me,and in reply i always answerer yep he did.Then i usually get are you sure he a pit bull? My buddy is getting old and started to lose his hearing but still has the want to get up everyday and go to work.I do believe that he says health because has never over eaten.Not even when steak was on the menu he will eat what he wants and walk away.This is not just a onetime thing its every time.I will be posting more later got to go.
